From Our Founder
Welcome to Mariahilf Integrated Secondary School, Kasenene.
It gives me great joy to see the dream of providing accessible and quality education to young people in our community becoming a reality. Growing up in a rural area, I experienced the challenges many children from poor families face in accessing education in Uganda. These experiences inspired me to work towards creating opportunities for young people so that they can learn, grow, and build a better future.
Mariahilf Integrated Secondary School was established to offer an education that forms the mind, heart, and hands of our students. We believe that education is not only about academic knowledge, but also about developing moral values, practical skills, and a sense of responsibility toward society.
Our goal is to prepare young people to become responsible citizens, leaders, and servants of their communities.
I am deeply grateful to all partners, supporters, teachers, parents, and friends who continue to contribute to the growth of this school and to the education of our young people.
May God bless all those who support this mission.

Why the Name “Mariahilf”?
The name Mariahilf has a special meaning in the history and inspiration of the school.
The founder, Bernard Rabwoni Akiiki, spent time in Vienna during his academic studies. During this period, he was connected to a parish known as Pfarre Mariahilf, located along the famous Mariahilfer Straße.
The word “Mariahilf” comes from the German language and means “Mary, Help” or “Help of Mary.” In the Catholic tradition, it refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary as a source of help and protection for people in need.
Inspired by this spiritual meaning and by the support received during his time in Austria, the founder chose the name Mariahilf for the school.
The name expresses the hope that the school will be a place where young people receive guidance, support, and encouragement to grow in knowledge, character, and faith.
